Q1. Are your surgeons “Plastic Surgeons” or “Cosmetic Surgeons”?
Craig and Jane are both qualified as Plastic Surgeons, who specialise in cosmetic breast and abdominal surgery. Any GP/Dermatologist can call themselves a cosmetic surgeon, however they have not had the minimum 12 years training that is required to become a plastic surgeon. Craig and Jane are both members of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons, who are regarded as highly trained specialists in their field.
Q2. How soon can I make an appointment?
Our receptionist can help you with the earliest time for your appointment, generally it is within couple of weeks. The cost for the initial consultation is $120. We recommend that you obtain a referral from your GP prior to your appointment so that you can claim part of the initial consultation fee back through Medicare. Please call our rooms on 1800 033 333 to arrange a convenient time for your consultation.
Q3. Will I meet the surgeon at my appointment?
You will meet your surgeon and client manager at your appointment. Please allow at least 1.5 hours for your initial appointment.
Q4. Where will the surgery be performed?
To ensure safety and excellent care from fully qualified staff at all procedures are performed at Epworth Hospital, Vimy Private Hospital and Cliveden Hill Private Hospital. All three are very good hospitals.
Q5. How long will I be in hospital?
Certain procedures such as Labioplasty can be performed as day surgery and patients can return home the same day. For breast augmentation patients, we advise an overnight stay, for breast reduction patients we advise 1-2 night stay and for Abdominoplasty patients we advise 3-5 nights. At the time of your consultation, your surgeon will discuss your hospital stay with you and if you require more or less time in hospital.
Q6. How much does the procedure cost?
At the time of your consultation you will be given a quote for your procedure. This quote will include the surgeon’s fee, anaesthetist fee, surgical assistant fee and the hospital fees. We can also provide you with “general” out of pocket expenses over the telephone or via email. Please contact us today.
Q7. How long will I need off work?
We recommend 1 week off work for Labioplasty procedures. For breast augmentation we recommend 1-2 weeks off work, for breast reduction we recommend 2-3 weeks off work and for Abdominoplasty 3-4 weeks off work. This can vary due to your levels of pain and discomfort and also on the type of work that you do.
Q8. When can I start exercising after my procedure?
We encourage gentle walking following your procedures. At the time of your consultation we will discuss more specific concerns with you.
